CARY, N.C., Jan 11, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Stacey Peter Anfindsen of the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS(R) (RRAR) will lift the gavel at his first official board meeting as president this morning. He said, "I am honored to be the 2012 President of the RRAR." Anfindsen is state certified residential real estate appraiser, licensed residential broker and has practiced in the RTP market since 1988. In addition to being the 2012 President of RRAR, he is also director for Triangle Multiple Listing Service, Inc. (TMLS) and on the Advisory Board of Governors for Prestonwood Country Club.

NAR Names Triangle International Council of REALTORS® As A Gold Council

The National Association of REALTORS®(NAR) informed Chair, Diana Braun that the Triangle International Council of REALTORS® was named a Gold council in the 2011 Global Business Council Achievement Program. Among the nearly 90 global business councils operating nationwide, only 12 were named Gold or Platinum councils.

RRAR 'Housing Heros' Donate $4000 to Help Family Displaced by Tornado

On October 7th the Housing Opportunity committee of the Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® hosts a “Be A Housing Hero” seminar each year and presents a monetary award to a local group that is supporting affordable housing in our area. This year, the committee gave $4,000 to the Salvation Army to be used for a family who was displaced by the Tornado last Fall. Insurance did not take care of all repairs needed to their home and they are still not living there. It is our hope that with this donation, they will be able to return home.

Great News for Triangle: 23% Increase in Home Sales over August 2010!

Triangle Multiple Listing Service (TMLS) reports the following information pertaining to the housing industry in the greater Triangle region during August 2011.

Several sales indicators for the region continued with positive gains in August. Closed sales for the month of August exceeded August of 2010 by 23 percent with a total 1,958 homes sold. This is the second consecutive month that sales exceeded those in 2010. Pending sales (homes under contract, but not yet closed) also exceeded last year by 22 percent. August was the fourth consecutive month that Pending sales exceeded the prior year and we anticipate a continuing trend in September.

Becky Medlin Recognized for 30 Years of Service

One of our own, the amazing Becky Medlin, was honored last night by the Fuquay Varina Chamber of Commerce for 30 years of service to her community. The Raleigh Regional Association of REALTORS® was involved in the wonderful event awarding Becky a plaque for her 30 years of membership.

From the Fuquay Varina Independent: Thirty years ago Becky Medlin called her husband and said, “you won’t believe what I did.” W.E.
