Downtown Raleigh establishes new high for business openings (TBJ)

More than 50 new restaurants and retailers opened up in street-level spaces in downtown Raleigh in 2010, which was the highest number of new businesses recorded since the Downtown Raleigh Alliance started keeping track of numbers eight years ago.

In the final three months of the year, 20 new businesses opened in ground-floor space in buildings in the downtown Raleigh district, while only seven business closed, according to the Alliance’s fourth quarter economic development report.....
