Triangle REALTORS® Participate in Nationwide Open House

Many members are looking forward to the REALTOR® Nationwide Open House Weekend on Saturday, April 10 and Sunday, April 11. The objective: to increase awareness of properties for sale and to help educate the buying public about the tax credit extension that ends April 30.

The goal is to have as many homes on the market open to the general public for this two-day real estate fair. Agents will be on hand to address homebuyers’ and sellers’ questions in an effort to jump start spring and summer sales. RRAR President Teresa Clark believes this will be the most open houses the Triangle has ever seen at one time.

Agents across the Triangle will be working individually with their sellers to create a timetable for when their home is open (either Saturday or Sunday or both) and for what times. Agents are also encouraged to update their inventory Web sites to include the latest contact information, driving directions and other pertinent information for potential sellers.

With the $8,000 tax credit for qualified first-time homebuyers and the $6,500 tax credit for qualified repeat buyers set to expire at the end of the month, the Nationwide Open House will be an excellent opportunity to have a final push of sales while the credit is still available.

Qualified buyers who are under contract by April 30 and close by June 30 still qualify for the tax credit. Agents interested in knowing more about the REALTOR® Nationwide Open House should see our events page for more information.
